The Opportunity:

We are currently in the position to expand our Assessor pool with the recruitment of contract Assessors as part of the Property Services discipline. The Assessor contract role is a key educational delivery position within Open Colleges and is part of the Business Services Program.

This position is on a contract basis that is flexible and would suit anyone who is currently freelancing, working part-time in a studio or education institute. The hours are not set hours per week, and will be dependent upon your experience in – Industry, Vocational, Education and Training (VET) and the units of competency you are assigned to. You may also work from any location around Australia that has access to a phone and the internet.

The Assessor will be concerned with the quality of the student experience, student retention and completion and student satisfaction with their learning experience.  This position will also provide input into the continuous improvement of the course design, learning materials and assessments as well as online student support materials.

In this role, you will undertake the following core functions:

  • Share your experiences from the industry with a diverse range of individuals undertaking training in the CPP40307 Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) – Aligned to Victoria state licensing requirements and legislation
  • Grade assessments in accordance with the Education Service Standards
  • Provide constructive feedback to learners in accordance with the Policies and Procedures
  • Participate in Assessment Validation and Moderation
  • Participate in Industry Advisory Committee meetings annually with other assessors and key industry representatives
  • Complete Professional Development requirements in line with an Annual Professional Development Plan
  • Facilitate the individual assessment discussions in OpenSpace
  • Facilitate Skill Development Workshops (if applicable)

Key Attributes & Experience:

  • Experience (+2 years in the last 4 years) relevant industry experience
  • Experience (+2 years in the last 4 years) of delivery and assessment of competency based training
  • Experience in the delivery and assessment of online learning
  • Understanding of the specific needs of adult learners
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong student focus and ethos

Educational Qualifications:

  • CPP40307 Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) qualifications or higher (essential)
  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (essential)
  • Recent experience* working in Property Services (Real Estate) (essential)
  • Currently practicing as a Registered Agent’s Representative in Victoria with extensive experience in Property Management
  • Professional Membership with REIV (highly desirable)
  • Recent experience* in distance, flexible or online learning (highly desirable)
  • Current Victorian Real Estate Agent’s Representative registration

      * Defined as in the past 2 years
