The Opportunity:

In this context, these are an exciting opportunities for passionate and experienced Veterinary Nurses to join the Veterinary Nursing Education Division. The Workplace Assessor is a key educational position that is responsible for conducting of assessment within the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing course and the provision of high quality and timely assessment feedback to learners.

Workplace Assessors will be concerned with the quality of the student experience, student retention and completion and student satisfaction with their learning experience.  This position will also provide input into the continuous improvement of the course design, learning materials and assessments as well as online student support materials.

In this role, you will undertake the following core functions:

  • Grade workplace assessments in accordance with the Education Service Standards
  • Provide constructive feedback to learners in accordance with the Policies and Procedures
  • Facilitate the individual assessment discussions in OpenSpace

Key Attributes & Experience:

  • 3+ Years’ experience practicing as a Veterinarian or Veterinary Nurse
  • Desirable to have experience in the delivery and assessment of competency based training and/or online learning
  • Advanced computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office products
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong student focus and ethos

Educational Qualifications:

  • Veterinary Nursing qualifications at a minimum of Certificate IV (essential), Diploma level (desirable) or a Bachelor of Veterinary Science
  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (essential)
  • Recent experience* working in Veterinary Nursing/Science (essential)
  • Recent experience* in distance, flexible or online learning (desirable)

                    * Defined as in the past 2 years
