Team and Role

We’re a young, passionate team of enthusiastic people intent on doing awesome work in the online education arena. We’re one of the biggest innovators in the online space today, integrating the very latest technology from our partners which include Google, YouTube and Facebook. Due to our exponential growth we’re often first in the country to test run state-of-the-art technology from these partners. 

Key Attributes & Experience:

  • Hold a BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
  • Software engineering fundamentals in design, testing and version control.
  • Independent programming experience as demonstrated by a GitHub account and/or personal web page/app/blog.

Candidates need the following experience

  • HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery.
  • Experience in a common web language ( e.g. PHP, Python, Java )
  • Experience with MVC software architecture ( e.g. Rails, CodeIgniter, Django )
  • Evidence that you stand out from the pack ( e.g. demonstrate initiative )

Other Skills/Attributes

  • You have a strong, insatiable desire to learn and hone your craft.
  • You have experience with or an interest in learning Python/Django and PHP.
  • You have a great positive attitude and enjoy working with a team of like-minded folk.
  • Willingness to write tests (unit and functional), even if you don't want to.
  • Amazing debugging skills, Firefox/Chrome Developer tools are your friends.
  • Prior internship experience in engineering or software development capacity.   
  • Excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Your degree is completed or in progress.
  • You will be enthusiastically mentored, but expect to own a project and ship a release.
  • Relational and Non-Relational Database Design & Architecture, including SQL.
  • Unix, Git, and other command line tools.
